Charles Sekano
Charles Sekano is a South Africa-born artist whose work sits at the heart of the modern and contemporary African canon. Working primarily in pastel & oil on canvas, Charles builds richly coloured surfaces that draw on memory, landscape and the everyday life of the continent.
Widely exhibited across Africa and beyond, Charles's practice balances a distinctive personal language with a deep engagement with place and community. The work forms an important part of the Redhill collection, where it is shown alongside both established masters and emerging voices.
