Abushariaa Ahmed is a Sudan-born artist whose work sits at the heart of the modern and contemporary African canon. Working primarily in mixed media on canvas, Abushariaa builds richly coloured surfaces that draw on memory, landscape and the everyday life of the continent.
Widely exhibited across Africa and beyond, Abushariaa's practice balances a distinctive personal language with a deep engagement with place and community. The work forms an important part of the Redhill collection, where it is shown alongside both established masters and emerging voices.
